Volleyball Recap: Cuba Comes Up Short

After flying high against Salem on Tuesday, Cuba came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Sullivan Eagles on Thursday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since September 22nd.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-17, 25-13.

Jaylen Haffer paced Cuba's offense, picking up seven kills. Haffer got some help from Allison Heads and her nine assists. Finally, Haffer was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Ava Todd, who had 14 assists and seven digs.

With the loss, Cuba broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 19-8-2. As for Sullivan, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-9-4.

Cuba does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sullivan, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against St. Clair on the 27th.
