Basketball Recap: Rawlins County Buffaloes vs. Ellis Railroaders
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rawlins County can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 70-33 loss at the hands of the Ellis Railroaders. The Buffaloes have struggled against the Railroaders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Rawlins County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dominique Paz, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 16 points, and Shaun Lare, who posted six points and three steals.
Ellis found their leader in sophomore Aiden Aschenbrenner, who went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aschenbrenner has scored all season. Jaren Frickey was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points and five boards.
Rawlins County's record is now 6-15. As for Ellis, they moved to 9-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Rawlins County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ellis, they will take on Central Plains at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Ellis' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
