Recap: South Aiken Thoroughbreds vs. Aiken Fighting Green Hornets
The South Aiken Thoroughbreds pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aiken. South Aiken has not had much luck with Aiken recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
South Aiken lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kelton Walker, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walker has scored all season. Terrence Smith was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
South Aiken has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season. As for Aiken, they pushed their record up to 14-10 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
South Aiken does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aiken, they will head out on the road to square off against North Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Augusta has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 558 points over their last eight games.
