Conant hasn't had much luck against Palatine recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Conant Cougars will look to defend their home court against the Palatine Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Conant didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lake Zurich, but they still walked away with a 54-48 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Palatine took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 65-36 victory over Wauconda. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 462nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palatine's win bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Conant, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.
