Basketball Recap: Pinson Valley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Maclay

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pinson Valley). They breezed by the Maclay Marauders to the tune of 58-19 on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pinson Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabbie Hopson, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alissa Hawkins, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 17 points.

Pinson Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Pinson Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Maclay, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

Pinson Valley has already played their next match, a 61-43 defeat against Westlake on the 30th. As for Maclay, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-21 loss against Dawson County on the 30th.
