Basketball Recap: Piedra Vista Comes Up Short

Piedra Vista played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 74-23 loss at the hands of the Gallup Bengals. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Bengals recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Octaviana John was Piedra Vista's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Aiyana Curley held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Piedra Vista now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Gallup, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Piedra Vista Panthers face off against the Tohatchi Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gallup, they will head out to challenge Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
