Baseball Game Preview: Bryant Owls vs. McKee Vo-Tech Seagulls

The Bryant Owls are taking a road trip to face off against the McKee Vo-Tech Seagulls at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bryant 3.2, McKee Vo-Tech 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Tuesday, Bryant was able to grind out a solid win over Stevenson, taking the game 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Owls.

Christian Cepin made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Bryant: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joseph Garcia, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Francisco Medrano also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, McKee Vo-Tech waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Falcons. The result was nothing new for the Seagulls, who have now won 11 games by ten runs or more so far this season.

McKee Vo-Tech's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Bryant, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
