Basketball Recap: Avon Comes Up Short

Avon lost to Fishers back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Orioles lost to the Tigers at home by a 65-50 margin. The Orioles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from Jedidiah Minnett, who shot 50% from the field en route to 19 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 38% of the Orioles' points, marking the fourth time in a row Minnett has posted more than a third of the team's points. William Clore was another key player, putting up ten points.

It was another big night for Kai McGrew, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 boards for Fishers. With that strong performance, McGrew is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Walker, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 15 points.

Avon now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Fishers, the win keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

Looking ahead, Avon will head out to square off against Westfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Orioles' defense better be ready for this one: the Shamrocks have averaged an impressive 58.8 points per game this season. As for Fishers, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-37 victory against Carroll on the 24th.
