Basketball Recap: Concord Christian Takes a Loss

Concord Christian lost against Christian Academy of Knoxville back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Concord Christian Lions took a blow against the Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors, falling 71-40. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while the Warriors are ranked 63rd).

Christian Academy of Knoxville had a senior duo take command as Caden Owens posted 19 points and Zachary Coffman had 16 points and six rebounds. Hunter Bennett was another key player, putting up seven points and seven assists.

Concord Christian's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.

Concord Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-50 defeat against Cumberland County on the 4th. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-50 victory against McMinn Central on the 4th.
