Football Recap: Hampton Starts off Right with Win over Luella + How To Watch

Hampton took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They never let the Luella Lions get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Aiden Louis was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 175 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries. Those 175 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hampton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 200 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Luella only rushed for 90 rushing yards.

Hampton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Markel Ferguson Coffee and Kamarui Dorsey. Ferguson Coffee has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last four times he's played.

Hampton and Luella could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Hornets (ranked 151st) will meet Stockbridge (ranked 22nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Luella will challenge Carver at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (219 vs. 103).
