Basketball Recap: San Benito Triumphs

San Benito's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 33-32 photo finish over the Veterans Memorial Chargers. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Greyhounds as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

San Benito's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-12. As for Veterans Memorial, they dropped their record down to 11-21 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Harlingen the next time they take the court. San Benito will host Harlingen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Veterans Memorial will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
