Syracuse is 1-9 against Davis since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Syracuse Titans will host the Davis Darts at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Syracuse's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Last Tuesday, Syracuse earned a 77-64 win over Weber.

Syracuse's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bradlee Trejo, who went 8 for 11 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. Those 21 points gave Trejo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Skyler Orton, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards.
Meanwhile, Davis faced Layton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Davis came up short against Layton, falling 66-43. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Darts who fell 73-71 when the teams previously met back in January of 2024.
Syracuse will have to contain Coleman Atwater as he made an impact in Davis' last game. He posted 16 points and five rebounds. That was a full 37.2% of Davis' points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Davis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.
Syracuse is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points per game. As for Davis, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-3.
Friday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Syracuse just can't miss this season, having made 47% of their shots per game. However, it's not like Davis struggles in that department as they've drained 47.1% of their field goals this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Syracuse and Davis were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but Syracuse came up empty-handed after a 52-51 loss. Can Syracuse avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
