Basketball Recap: South Paulding's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

South Paulding entered their contest against Lithia Springs on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The South Paulding Spartans fell just short of the Lithia Springs Lions by a score of 57-54. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Spartans came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Lions are ranked 323rd).

South Paulding's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4. As for Lithia Springs, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

South Paulding will be home for the holidays to greet Villa Rica at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lithia Springs will take on Kennesaw Mountain in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
