Basketball Recap: Elko Falls Short of North Valleys in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Elko can now relate to. They came up short against the North Valleys Panthers on Monday, falling 56-34. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

North Valleys' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexys DeCremer, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Ivy Williams was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Elko's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for North Valleys, they pushed their record up to 22-4 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.

Elko does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Valleys, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-50 loss against Fernley on the 14th.
