Pieper came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the United Longhorns. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on Friday.

Pieper had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-18, 25-12.

Eva Planchet paced Pieper's offense, picking up 16 kills. Planchet got some help from Dani McAllister and her 33 assists. Cameron Kilpatrick controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

United's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexandra Medrano, who had 14 assists and six digs. Ashlet Figueroa was another key player, getting 11 assists and five digs.

Pieper's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for United, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Pieper has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against New Braunfels on the 26th. As for United, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Judson on the 26th.
