Volleyball Recap: IMG Academy Black's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

IMG Academy Black can bid farewell to their six-match losing streak thanks to their match on Friday. Everything went their way against the Inspiration Academy Lions as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Ascenders not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 30, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Leading IMG Academy Black to victory were Willa Simmons and Catalina Merhab Rivera. Simmons had eight digs and two aces, while Merhab Rivera had 14 digs and five assists. Those five assists gave Merhab Rivera a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: IMG Academy Black was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-9-1. As for Inspiration Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

As of now, neither IMG Academy Black nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
