Soccer Recap: Smithville Plays to a Tie

For the first time this season, Smithville was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor the Independence Blue Devils could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

With that draw, Smithville's record moves to 0-2-1.

Coming up, Smithville will head out to take on Rittman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Smithville their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Independence, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 4-2 defeat against Vermilion on the 23rd.
