Basketball Recap: Manistique Takes a Loss

Manistique lost against Munising back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Manistique Emeralds were dealt a 69-41 loss at the hands of the Munising Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Emeralds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 561st, while the Mustangs are ranked 93rd).

Manistique has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Munising, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.

Coming up, Manistique will head out to challenge Rudyard at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rudyard knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Manistique likes a good challenge. As for Munising, they have already played their next contest, a 60-39 victory against Rapid River on the 11th.
