Softball Recap: Fortuna Triumphs

Fortuna won the last time they faced Lower Lake and things went their way on Saturday too. The Fortuna Huskies came out on top against the Lower Lake Trojans by a score of 10-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Mariah Bravo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Bravo was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabel Sanchez, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Helms, who scored a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Fortuna's record is now 2-0. As for Lower Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Fortuna will be playing at home against St. Bernard's at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Lower Lake, they will venture away from home to face off against Healdsburg at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
