Softball Recap: Lubbock Comes Up Short

Lubbock scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 26-18 to the Caprock Longhorns. The Westerners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Lubbock now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Caprock, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Lubbock is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Glen Rose at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Caprock, they will challenge Legacy Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.7 runs per game on average), something the Longhorns will no doubt try to take advantage of.
