Basketball Recap: Decatur's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Decatur waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took down the Wicomico Indians 65-51. Given the Seahawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Indians are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Decatur had a senior duo take command as Noah Tucker went 5 for 12 on his way to 16 points along with five boards and three steals and Davin Chandler went 9 of 18 en route to 23 points and five rebounds. Chandler's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Carmack, who went 5 for 7 to rack up 11 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

Decatur's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Wicomico, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-6.

Looking ahead, Decatur will face off against Bennett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bennett will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Decatur surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wicomico, they will host Mardela at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
