Basketball Recap: Holy Names Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Holy Names Academy can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against the University City Centurions by a score of 44-33. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but Holy Names Academy was the better team in the second half.

University City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Topanga Tusantoso, who posted eight points and five rebounds. Kianna Lefear was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Holy Names Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for University City, they moved to 8-6 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Holy Names Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Paloma Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for University City, they will take on Soldotna in a tournament on Monday. Soldotna will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something University City surely won't give up without a fight.
