Malachi Horton ran for three touchdowns and
Zach Pell added two as well as
Morristown-Hamblen West (Morristown, Tenn.) bested Seymour (Tenn.) 55-15 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Horton in the first quarter, the Trojans led 48-0 at the half.
A 34-point second quarter helped Morristown-Hamblen West secure the big victory. MHW rushed for five touchdowns on the ground during the quarter, including two by Pell.
Coming into the game the Morristown school had allowed 22.3 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Eagles well below their season average of 23.2 points scored per game.
Morristown-Hamblen West also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-7.
With the win MHW extended its winning streak to three games.
