Football Recap: Rockport-Fulton Takes a Loss

If Rockport-Fulton was feeling good fresh off their 44-3 takedown of Bishop last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates took a 42-24 bruising from the Kinkaid Falcons on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 612th, while the Falcons are ranked 108th).

Loss or not, Rockport-Fulton got some senior leadership from Jaxon Keown and Traey Alvarado. Keown gained 166 total yards and a touchdown, while Alvarado rushed for 107 yards and two TDs. Keown really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.

Rockport-Fulton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Kinkaid, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockport-Fulton will face off against Calallen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kinkaid, they will square off against Second Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
