Basketball Recap: Spruce Comes Up Short

Spruce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the Adams Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-32 back in December of 2024.

Artiss Harris was her usual excellent self, putting up 24 points for Adams. Kaili Moncada was another key player, earning 11 points.

Spruce's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Adams, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.

Spruce will square off against West Mesquite at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Adams, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Seagoville at 8:00 p.m.
