Basketball Recap: Dooly County Bobcats vs. Macon County Bulldogs
Dooly County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Macon County Bulldogs and fell 97-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.
Dooly County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lucas Kentavious, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Sean Sallette, who went 5 of 11 en route to 12 points.
Macon County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lavoris Smith out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Fulks, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 23 points and four steals.
Dooly County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Macon County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
Dooly County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-50 win against Montgomery County on the 21st. As for Macon County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-61 victory against Chattahoochee County on the 21st.
