Basketball Game Preview: Erie Tigers vs. Broomfield Eagles

The Erie Tigers will head out to square off against the Broomfield Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Erie will head out to face Broomfield after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. Erie fell to Monarch 38-32.

Despite the defeat, Erie saw an underclassman step up: freshman Addison Greenlee posted nine points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tegan Cerveny, who had nine points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Broomfield entered their tilt with Longmont on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trojans 66-12. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season.

Broomfield's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Erie, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5.

Erie came up short against Broomfield when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 47-37. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Broomfield's Paige Gilpatrick, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards.
