Basketball Game Preview: Lake Washington Kangaroos vs. Woodinville Falcons

Lake Washington is 0-5 against Woodinville since December of 2014 but things could change on Thursday. The Lake Washington Kangaroos will welcome the Woodinville Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Woodinville will be up against a hot Lake Washington team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Lake Washington blew past North Creek 66-46 on Tuesday. Given the Kangaroos' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Jaguars are ranked 82nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodinville). They claimed a resounding 85-58 win over Glacier Peak. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won six in a row.

Lake Washington better keep an eye on Jazlyn Wilkerson. She was instrumental in Woodinville's win, going 6-for-9 from beyond the arc to rack up 28 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Wilkerson now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. Hailey Quiggle was another key player, going 7-for-15 en route to 20 points.

Lake Washington's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for Woodinville, their victory bumped their record up to 22-3.

Lake Washington came up short against Woodinville in their previous meeting back in January, falling 60-52. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Quiggle, who went 8-for-11 on her way to 21 points and six rebounds.
