Football Recap: Pocono Mountain West Comes Up Short

Pocono Mountain West lost against Stroudsburg back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers lost to the Mountaineers at home by a 30-15 margin. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Pocono Mountain West saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Christian Stiehler picked up 114 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 38 yards.

Stroudsburg can attribute much of their success to Jack Mitchell, who threw for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Pocono Mountain West's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Stroudsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Pocono Mountain West will head out to square off against East Stroudsburg South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stroudsburg, they will welcome East Stroudsburg North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mountaineers will be up against the Timberwolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
