Carroll wins going away against Faith Christian

The Carroll Cougars put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Faith Christian as Carroll made off with a 52-29 win. Considering Carroll has won three contests by more than 22 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Carroll's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Wagner led the charge by scoring 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Jillian Salts was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maya Layton, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Layton scored a full 34.5% of Faith Christian's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Bolton, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.

Carroll has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 5-0 record. As for Faith Christian, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carroll will square off against Northridge at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Northridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Faith Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against North Montgomery at 7:30 p.m. on November 28th. North Montgomery will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
