The Cooperstown Hawkeyes will be playing in front of their home fans against the New York Mills Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Cooperstown took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 72-42 win over the Spartans. That looming 72-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Cooperstown yet this season.
Charlie Lambert was his usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten assists. Lambert is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Brody Murdock was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, New York Mills made off with a 50-49 win over the Red Raiders. The win made it back-to-back wins for New York Mills.
Cooperstown's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8. As for New York Mills, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Cooperstown took their win against the Marauders in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 67-41. Does Cooperstown have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Marauders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
