Basketball Recap: Riverwalk Academy's Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak at Home

Riverwalk Academy had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down the Governor's School for Science & Math Eagles 42-24 on Tuesday. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 37-34 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Riverwalk Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Levi Staton out in front who posted 15 points and six boards. Adam Johnson was another key player, putting up four points along with nine boards and five steals.

Riverwalk Academy's victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Governor's School for Science & Math, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverwalk Academy will head out to square off against C.A. Johnson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Governor's School for Science & Math, they will square off against Lewisville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lewisville will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Governor's School for Science & Math surely won't give up without a fight.
