Soccer Game Preview: River Forest vs. DeMotte Christian

River Forest hasn't had much luck against DeMotte Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Ingots will face off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. River Forest has given up an average of 11.2 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for River Forest's offense. They came up short against Washington Township on Wednesday, falling 9-0. That's two games in a row now that River Forest have lost by exactly nine goals.

Meanwhile, DeMotte Christian waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Blackhawks get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. DeMotte Christian's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

They hit Westville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cassie Nanninga (3), Elsie Burlingham (2), and Bethany Mudde (2).

River Forest's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for DeMotte Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

River Forest might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from DeMotte Christian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Ingots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
