Softball Recap: Southwest SD Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Southwest SD finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against the Montgomery Aztecs, falling 18-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Aztecs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Southwest SD's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Montgomery, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Southwest SD will square off against rival Castle Park at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Montgomery is set to face off against their familiar foe San Ysidro at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
