Baseball Game Preview: Goshen RedHawks vs. Concord Minutemen

The Goshen RedHawks will head out to face off against the Concord Minutemen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Plymouth hit Goshen with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The RedHawks fell 8-4 to the Pilgrims/Rockies. The RedHawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Goshen got a good showing from Jensen Meikle, who pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Meikle gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Braxton Cline made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Concord was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Northridge. That's two games in a row now that the Minutemen have lost by just one run.

Goshen's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Concord, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Goshen couldn't quite get it done against Concord in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the RedHawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
