Recap: John Paul II Centurions vs. McMullen County Cowboys
The John Paul II Centurions lost against the McMullen County Cowboys back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. John Paul II might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting McMullen County an easy 49-29 victory. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points John Paul II has scored all season.
Despite the loss, John Paul II saw an underclassman step up: Darius Johnson scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Teddy Chavez, who scored two points along with seven steals.
John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for McMullen County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
John Paul II and Charlotte will face off at 4:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Charlotte is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. McMullen County and Corpus Christi United will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
