Softball Recap: Elkhart Lions vs. Wawasee Warriors

After losing to Wawasee the last time they met, Elkhart decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 14-4 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Laci Stimac made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stimac was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Ava Walker was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Reid, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Elkhart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wawasee only posted a batting average of .211.
