Volleyball Recap: Lexington Eagles vs. Franklin Lions

After flying high against C.H. Yoe last Friday, Lexington came back down to earth. The Lexington Eagles fell just short of the Franklin Lions by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.

Lexington took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-20, 25-27, 25-12, 16-14.

Kailyn Keeling paced Lexington's offense, picking up 16 kills. Keeling got some help from Emilia Bayer and her 28 assists.

Lexington's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 28-18. As for Franklin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-18 record this season.

Lexington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Brazos Christian on the 25th. As for Franklin, a feisty cat fight will be fought when Lions dukes it out withRockdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
