Mercer County won the last time they faced Bureau Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Golden Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Storm. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Eagles have posted since October 10, 2024.

Mercer County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-20, 25-11.

The victory got Mercer County back to even at 1-1. As for Bureau Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Mercer County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Monmouth-Roseville on the 30th. As for Bureau Valley, they will head out to face off against Morrison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
