Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Beardstown

Beardstown entered their tilt with Seymour on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Indians. With that victory, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Beardstown got a great performance from Starkin Sena Fajardo as he struck out 12 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave Sena Fajardo a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Colby Desollar was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Parker Bell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Beardstown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Beardstown pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Seymour, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Beardstown will challenge Camp Point Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.47 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Seymour, they will face off against Pleasant Hill/Western at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
