Baseball Game Preview: Prospect Knights vs. Rolling Meadows Mustangs

For the second straight game, Prospect will face off against Rolling Meadows. The Knights will welcome the Mustangs at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Prospect came out on top against Rolling Meadows on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Knights skirted past the Mustangs 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since April 21st.

Dominic Graf looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Prospect is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 8-9-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Prospect let Ken Munao and Aiden Nelson run wild. Munao went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Nelson got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Nelson has posted over his last 13 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Fouch, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Rolling Meadows and nudges their season record down to 19-10. As for Prospect, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-9-1.
