Softball Game Preview: Crater Comets vs. Sheldon Irish

Crater hasn't had much luck against Sheldon recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Comets will square off against the Irish at 4:30 p.m. Crater is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Crater is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against North Eugene on Friday as they made off with a 15-7 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Comets with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Sheldon fell victim to Roseburg and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Irish's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Crater's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Sheldon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Crater might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Sheldon in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
