Recap: Liberty Red Devils vs. Fairfield Central Griffins
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Liberty Red Devils, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Fairfield Central on Friday, falling 48-7. The low total for Liberty limited their streak of high-flying scores to four in a row.
Fairfield Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but TyDarion Grier led the charge by rushing for 127 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Cameron Mcmillon was another key contributor, throwing for 284 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Fairfield Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fairfield Central will face off against Silver Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Silver Bluff is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
