Basketball Recap: Goshen RedHawks vs. Laporte Wildcats
Goshen's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They breezed by the Laporte Wildcats to the tune of 58-20. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the RedHawks considering their 14-point performance the matchup before.
Ava Yordy was a one-man wrecking crew for Goshen as she went 10 for 18 en route to 21 points plus seven rebounds and six steals. What's more, Yordy also racked up five assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Kaelyn Marcum was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
The victory got Goshen back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goshen will challenge Lakeland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Laporte, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mishawaka Marian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
