Baseball Recap: Encinal Snaps 14-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Encinal dropped their record down to 13-8 on Friday, which also ended the team's 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Castro Valley Trojans by a score of 2-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 on Wednesday.

Anthony Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

As for Castro Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.

On Castro Valley's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arthur Sims, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
