Baseball Recap: Northglenn Norsemen vs. Boulder Panthers

Northglenn had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 6-13 to make it six. They fell just short of the Boulder Panthers by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 on April 2nd.

Northglenn got a good showing from Abel Villalpondo, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Hunter Campbell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Josh Dreiling was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Boulder, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

On Boulder's side, Finn Torvik was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three doubles. Those five RBI gave Torvik a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Nguyen, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coming up, Northglenn will challenge Hinkley at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Boulder, they will venture away from home to challenge Prairie View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunderhawks will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
