Softball Recap: Poway Comes Up Short

Poway fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Rancho Bernardo on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 6-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in April.

Paityn Vidano made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Lindsey McCormick, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Poway has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-15 record this season. As for Rancho Bernardo, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Poway nor Rancho Bernardo have any future games scheduled.
