Neosho takes loss despite strong efforts from Colton Southern and Kaiden Asberry

Recap: Neosho Wildcats vs. Joplin Eagles

The Neosho Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 55-33 loss at the hands of Joplin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Neosho has scored all season.

Kaiden Asberry and Colton Southern certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Asberry scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Southern scored ten points along with five rebounds. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him.

Neosho has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Joplin, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neosho won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Carl Junction on January 6th. Carl Junction is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Joplin won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Webb City at 12:30 p.m. on January 6th. Webb City has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 459 points over their last six contests.
