Baseball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

Columbia and Sinton squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Columbia had to settle for second. They fell 4-0 to the Pirates. The Roughnecks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Columbia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Thrasher, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 17-13-2. As for Sinton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6-1 record this season.

While Columbia had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
