Itasca barely beat Meridian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wampus Cats were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Yellowjackets on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wampus Cats, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Maddox Abrego made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Abrego was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other pitching news, Itasca got a great performance from Gage Bassett as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, Bassett posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

Itasca will face off against Venus at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.43 runs per game on average), something the Wampus Cats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Meridian, they will square off against Italy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
